I’m currently a first-year PhD student in computer science at Stanford University with Percy Liang. I’m passionate about the machine learning and optimization, and have some experience.
And yes, that’s me holding a banana phone. With a container of peas at my side.

Machine learning, in general, interests me because of its mix of algorithms, analysis and statistics. Recently, I’ve been investigating parameter estimation, particularly using the method of moments (sometimes called “spectral methods”). I’ve also worked on relation extraction, probabilistic programming, statistical relational learning and hierarchical reinforcement learning.
More about my research, past and present, can be found here.
